Our Rooms
From the very earliest stages, our rooms are designed to support children as they grow in confidence, mobility, language and independence.
In our Baby and Toddler rooms, children begin exploring the world around them through sensory play, movement and meaningful interaction. As they grow, our environments encourage imagination, problem-solving, communication and resilience.
Book a VisitThe Baby Room
Where security becomes confidence.
The very first thing babies need is to feel safe, loved and understood.
In our Baby Room, we create a calm, nurturing environment where each baby is known deeply by their key person. Gentle voices, familiar routines and warm interactions help babies feel secure, and when babies feel safe, they begin to explore.
This stage is all about the senses. Babies learn through touch, sound, movement and connection. Our carefully planned experiences encourage rolling, reaching, babbling, exploring textures and responding to voices.
We follow each baby’s individual rhythms — their sleep, feeding, interests and emerging milestones — working closely with families to mirror home routines wherever possible.
Here, babies begin to build their first sense of identity. They learn that their feelings matter. That their voice is heard. That the world is a safe place to explore.
And that is where everything begins.
The Toddler Room
Where independence starts to shine.
Toddlers are discovering their voices, their feet and their opinions — often all at once!
Our Toddler Room is thoughtfully designed for children who are developing independence but still need reassurance. It’s a space full of invitation to climb, build, pretend, question and try again.
We carefully balance familiarity and challenge. Predictable routines help children feel secure, while engaging activities stretch their thinking and confidence.
At this stage, imagination blossoms. A block becomes a castle. A blanket becomes a superhero cape. When children create something, whether it’s a tall tower, a cosy home corner, a world of their own, we respect it. We don’t rush their play. We allow it to unfold naturally.
We celebrate effort just as much as achievement. Photographs, encouragement and genuine praise help children feel proud of what they can do.
This is how we help them grow resilience one small step at a time.
Little Explorers & Explorers
Where curiosity takes the lead.
Between two and three years old, development accelerates beautifully.
Language explodes. Friendships form. Questions multiply.
Why? How? What’s that?
Our Explorer rooms give children the space, time and freedom they need to follow their curiosity. Our team understands this stage deeply — supporting social skills, emotional regulation and communication in ways that feel natural and playful.
Children are learning how to share ideas, take turns and express feelings. They are beginning to understand their place in the world.
We listen carefully to their questions, because those questions show us what fascinates them. From there, we plan meaningful learning experiences that build confidence, vocabulary and independence.
By playing alongside children rather than directing every moment, we give them the freedom to build their own understanding of the world.
It’s learning disguised as play. And it’s powerful.
Pre-School
Preparing for school — and for life.
Pre-School is a special chapter.
Here, children grow into confident communicators, creative thinkers and capable learners. They build dens, solve problems, negotiate roles in imaginative play and test out big ideas.
Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage, creating strong foundations that continue into Reception and beyond. We have close links with local schools to ensure transitions feel smooth and reassuring for both children and parents.
But preparation for school isn’t about worksheets.
It’s about:
• Confidence to speak up • Resilience to keep trying • Curiosity to ask questions • Independence in everyday tasks
Through a rich balance of purposeful teaching and child-led exploration, we nurture the Characteristics of Effective Learning, encouraging children to play and explore, think critically and stay motivated.
Our role as adults is to guide, scaffold and extend, while respecting that children are capable thinkers in their own right.
School readiness isn’t just about what children know, but about who they are becoming.
The Sleep Room
Rest. Restore. Reset.
Growing brains need rest.
Our dedicated Sleep Room provides a peaceful space where children can relax and recharge during the day. Each child has their own named bed and hypoallergenic bedding, creating familiarity and comfort.
Our Sleep Room staff gently supports children into rest with soothing routines and lullabies, ensuring nap time feels calm and secure.
Sleep supports emotional regulation, memory, physical growth and overall wellbeing, and we treat it as an essential part of the day.
We follow all DFE Safer Sleeping arrangements and all equipment meets British Standard Requirements.
The Sensory Room
Our sensory room has been thoughtfully designed to help children feel safe, settled, and supported while they explore the world through their senses. With soft lighting, calming textures, soothing sounds, and interactive sensory resources, the space offers children a chance to regulate, relax, and discover at their own pace.
For some children, it’s a peaceful retreat away from busy environments. For others, it’s a place to build confidence, curiosity, communication, and connection through sensory play and exploration.
From bubble tubes and light projections to tactile activities and cosy corners, every element has been chosen to support children’s emotional wellbeing, focus, and development in a calm and nurturing way.
Because when children feel secure and understood, they’re free to explore, engage, and grow with confidence.
It’s learning, disguised as wonder.
Four Outdoor Spaces. Endless Possibilities.
Outdoor play is a huge part of childhood — a place where children can move, explore, investigate, take safe risks and build confidence through real experiences.
At Dream Big Little One, we’re fortunate to have four dedicated outdoor areas, each thoughtfully designed around the needs and development of the children who use them. Our baby garden provides a calm, secure space for our youngest children to explore the outdoors at their own pace. Our toddler garden, with direct access from the toddler room, makes it easy for children to move freely between indoor and outdoor learning as their curiosity takes them. Our newly refurbished pre-school quad has been designed to encourage independence, imaginative play and purposeful exploration, while our large newly refurbished play area gives children space to run, climb, create, investigate and challenge themselves.
From developing balance, coordination and physical confidence to encouraging curiosity, problem-solving, friendships and independence, outdoor play offers learning that simply cannot be replicated indoors. Children can follow their own interests, test their ideas, experience the natural world and discover what they are capable of.
Because sometimes, the best learning happens with muddy hands, fresh air and plenty of space to explore.
Four spaces. Countless opportunities to learn, grow and become.
